Events In Kenya

In December 2021 our A4A boarding house members were finally able to return to the stage to perform in Dance Centre Kenya’s The Nutcracker. What made this event so special was the audience of 1000 children from around Nairobi, many of whom come from our A4A arts classes and from our sister organization Project Elimu in Kibera! They were invited to come and watch the full dress rehearsal, which for many of them was the first live theatre performance they had ever seen!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

On Saturday, March 30, 2019 300 A4A arts students from Karen C government school and Good Samaritan preparatory school made their way to the Kenya National Theatre to see Dance Centre Kenya‘s live ballet production of a Midsummer Night’s Dream. Following the magical performance of fairies and enchantment, the children were thrilled to meet the performers on stage.

A Holiday Celebration

On November 30, 2018 arts students from Karen C government school came together with ballet students from Dance Centre Kenya to create a holiday celebration with performers from all different backgrounds. The children from Karen C performed ballet, traditional African dance, drama, music and presented visual art, and the dancers from DCK presented the second act of The Nutcracker. Everyone involved will remember this magic for years to come.
