Artists For Africa supports programs in ballet, African dance, music, visual arts, creative writing and drama. Our programs have been widely embraced and offer children from the poorest neighborhoods in Kenya an opportunity to experience the arts as they had never before dreamed. Currently, the 9 member A4A team of arts teachers reach approximately 1,000 students each year with weekly arts classes in the Nairobi area.
In November of 2018, a holiday showcase featured A4A arts students performing and displaying their art work, followed by Dance Centre Kenya performing the Act II of the Nutcracker. This collaboration allowed the audience and the artists to recognize the progress to be made with hard work and dedication, as well as see that the arts are for everyone, regardless of socioeconomic standing.
